General information
The admission procedure is an administrative process set to determine whether or not an applicant shall be admitted to studies in an accredited degree programme. The admission procedure begins with the submission of an application to an MU faculty and proceeds in compliance with the Higher Education Act and Masaryk University Statutes. The admission procedure ends with a decision on admission or denial of admission to studies in the degree programme and field of study listed in the entrance application. Should the applicant withdraw the application or fail to complete the requirements imposed by the admission procedure (in particular the entrance examinations), all fees associated with the admission procedure are considered non-refundable.

Application fees
Fees associated with admission procedures at all Masaryk University faculties apart from the Faculty of Social Studies’ 290 CZK, the Faculty of Sports Studies’ 550 CZK and the Faculty of Medicine’ 1,300 CZK have been set at 400 CZK. The applicant is required to pay the fee for each submitted application. Payment information for each electronic application including an individually assigned identification code is generated by the Information System following the submission of the online form. The system generate a bill after each individual e-application is filled out. Payment is made through the MU on-line shop; when submitting more than one application the applicant can pay for all the applications with a single payment. It is not necessary to confirm payment by post. Applicants who fail to attend the entrance examinations will not be refunded.
Application deadline
Electronic application system (EAS) can start receiving applications from June 2012 for entry in spring 2013 or from January 2013 for entry in fall 2013. The closing date for the receipt of applications is mid October 2012 for spring 2013 term or the end of April 2013 for fall 2013 term. However, there are some slight differences to the dates EAS receives your application according the faculties. Please refer to the following:

Entry requirements
The qualification, skill and qualities need for admission to Masaryk University vary from programme to programme. For full details of entry requirements visit the faculty/programme web pages. However, the minimum entry requirements for degree study are as follow:
- International qualifications which are equivalent to International Baccalaureate or A level qualification (for Bachelor’s programme), Bachelor’s degree certificate (for Master’s Programme) - the University requires all students to provide proof of qualifications (certified copy of the diploma by the authorised university office or by a notary public official) accompanied by the final transcript of records. Diplomas and final transcripts of records whose original language is not English or Czech should be accompanied by an official English language translation, stamped and signed by a translating company or an authorised university office;
- English language qualifications - you are required to have a sufficient command of English language to enable you to follow the course without linguistic difficulties. To prove your proficiency in English we ask for one of the following:
- TOEFL – 550 for paper-based, 213 for computer-based, or 79 for Internet-based tests;
- Cambridge IELTS written version - 6.5, CAE - B grade, CPE - C grade;
- or other internationally recognized certificates. (This doesn’t apply to native speakers and holders of a prior degree taught in English).
- Curriculum Vitae - a summary of education, relevant job experience, skills etc.
- Statement of purpose - document outlining the applicant's intellectual history and presenting his/her motivation in applying to the certain programme.
- Recommendation letter – you may also be required to provide the reference from your university teacher.

After applying
The next communication and any conditions attached to admission process will be communicated to you through the online application and by a letter/email from the University. You can track the status of your application by yourselves via the online application system anytime.
