AnnotationThe monograph will present a survey of the main ontological and (related) epistemological conceptions know to the history of philosophy, i.e. those which have emerged in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and Indian, will be briefly reviewed. The bulk of the wor k is, of course, based upon recent and current ontological and epistemological theories, that is to say existential, scientistic, post-modern, analytic, hermeneutic and others. Stress is laid upon the constitution of evolutionary ontology which not only makes critical use of the existing philosophical tradition but also draws philosophical conclusions from the results of contemporary specialized sciences.
