In distance learning, and, of course, not only in it, web tools play gradually increasing role. A frequent problem is to use traditional documents, mainly prepared in Microsoft Word or LATEX, and transform them, if possible, by a simple way to be included in web pages. This paper discusses some freeware or shareware programs and tools available from the Internet and the ways they were used, besides sophisticated and more expensive solutions, for simple and fast preparation of teaching materials to be used for distance education and lifelong learning.
