Příspěvek se zabývá možnostmi standardizace ve veřejném sektoru. Problematika standardizace je rozsáhlá. Lze vysledovat pokusy formulace standardů v jednotlivých oblastech lidského společenství, od pojetí technických norem až po standardy kvality vybraných služeb. Z pohledu veřejného sektoru je nejprve určen koncept standardizace z obecného hlediska a pak jsou popsány jednotlivé dílčí pokusy standardizace v odvětvích veřejného sektoru.

The paper deals with possibilities of standardization in public sector. Problems of standardization are very extensive. It is possible to trace attempts to formulate standards in particular areas of human society, from technical approach to standards of selected services quality. In term of public sector, first, there is given concept of standardization from general view and then there are described individual partial advances of standardization in segments of public sector.
