Microorganisms resistant to antimicrobial agents are widespread in hospital settings and pose a threat to public health. The aim is to describe the microbiome and resistome in the samples collected from diverse rooms in maternity hospitals using the whole metagenome shotgun sequencing. The results can reveal the main reservoirs of antimicrobial resistant microorganisms serving as a source of potentially harmful bacteria which could colonize the new-borns and affect their future health.
