| Description | First we briefly discuss the role of problems in creating and developing mathematical teories and in teaching mathematics at school. After giving a short typology of problems in mathematics we concetrate on non-standard problems which require a creative approach and whose solutions are close to creative mathematical research. Such problems appear in many contests like to the traditional Mathematical olympiad (MO). In the second part of our contribution we deal with detailed solutions of the unusual problems taken from the 2012 Czech and Slovak MO. |
