| Description | The article sums up the present pieces of knowledge gathered thanks to archaeological research of a landmark of the city Brno.Already in the second half of the 12th century there was built the first cathedral with a crypt under the chancel, which was substantially extended in the next century.The crypt was backfilled in relation with a late-Gothic reconstruction in the 15th century.During the archaeological research tombs from the period ranging from 12th/13th century until the 18th century were revaled, which gives evidence for the change in the perspective about the death and burials. |
