Description The first significant human interference to the river beds began in our country in the Middle Ages. The anthropogenic pressure on river beds is still growing with later development of economic activities. Presented research was focused on the evaluation conducted anthropogenic changes in river beds by studying maps, historical sources and detailed field research. There were defined 4 categories of watercourse modification arranged up by the rate of influence: I) channel straightening, II) bank reinforcement with stones and plants, III) bank reinforcement with stone wall, and IV) piped watercourse.
