Description In this work we focused on the preparation of metal (U, Y and Fe) phosphates by sonochemical and solvothermal methods. Uranium phosphates can be potentially used for reprocessing and storage of the radioactive waste. Yttrium phosphates are widely used especially in optics. Iron phosphates are used in electrical engineering in lithium-ion batteries in the form of mixed compounds. We used acetates of these metals as precursors. Various phosphate esters were used as solvents and also as reactants. All products were characterized by selected physical and chemical methods: IR, PXRD, DLS, SEM, thermal and elemental analysis. Using the mentioned methods of preparation, during which the reactions take place under extreme conditions, we obtained products with particle size about tens to hundreds nanometers.
