Description The certified methodology (Nmet) implementing the contract No. 201301009 dated 16 December 2014. The methodology introduces the new passive sampler based on adsorption of monitored chemicals (perfluorinated compounds and selected pharmaceuticals) in aquatic environment into suitable sorbent. The substance transfer from water to the sampler is controlled by diffusion in the layer of agarose hydrogel. The suitable thickness of the hydrogel it is possible to control the transfer of the compound and also the sampling rate into the sampler. The sampling rates of designed sampler are robust and can be applied as a calibration parameter of the sampler which allows the calculation of the monitored compound in the sampler at the time weighted average concentration in the water phase in the sampled water environment. The method is developed for surface water application. It is possible to adapt it for passive sampling of drinking water and groundwater. The methodology was certified on 22 December 2017 by the Ministry of the Environment and published in its Buletin 1/2017.
