Description In this work we study preparation methods of tin nanoparticles in different reaction conditions, then we study influence of reaction temperature, surfactant type and amount on size and melting point of nanoparticles. Prepared nanoparticles are characterized by dynamic light scattering, transmission and scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffraction. Results of individual analyses are mutually compared and the process of preparing the nanoparticles exhibiting the highest uniformity, depression of melting point and the lowest size evaluated. The smallest particles were synthetised by the reduction method at temperature of 120 °C and their diameter was 10 nm. Melting point depression of this sample is reported, it melte dat 225 °C.
