| Description | The subject of thi s paper is to analyze longitudinal investigations of Brno housing estates carried out between 1988 and 2011 in relation to the quality of life in the examined housing estates. Literary research discusses the theories and approaches known from the beginning of building of settlements to the present state of knowledge. The aim of the paper is to analyze, interpret, evaluate and compare the selected parameters of the above mentioned researches carried out in the settlements in Brno in the last thirty years. It has been found that housing satisfaction in the housing sector is increasing over time and is mainly due to the privatization of a large part of the housing stock and the growing revitalization, it can be said that the quality of life in these units does not decrease, on the contrary, it tends to grow. This finding can be considered positive, especially because approximately one third of the population of the Czech Republic (in case of Brno about 40 %) live in the housing estate |
