Description In the presented study, we wanted to compare the effect of two different types of training on the selected strength parameters in the senior female population. We were interested in the strength of knee flexors and extensions, as well as their mutual relationship. We conducted 8 - week intervention training program in elderly women. The study involved 30 women (mean age 68,5 yr). They were divided into two groups, strength and combined. The diagnosis of the monitored parameters took place before and after the end of the intervention program. The observed parameters of the effect of intervention programs were: isokinetic strength of knee flexors and extensions. In conclusion, both intervention programs had a positive effect on the examined women, strength training was slightly more effective. From a point of view of joint stability, we have seen a better result in the strength group of the dominant leg. The combined group reduced the differences between right and left leg extensors and right and left leg flexors.
