Citation
Description During the second half of the 20th century, consumer patterns and purchasing behavior stabilized considerably in advanced market economies, as opposed to the transition economies, where these elements have been overwhelmed with unprecedented speed and dynamism since the late 1980s. The differences, changes and current trends in quantity and concentration of retail that have been very noticeable between Western Europe and post-socialist space have been minimized in recent years, while some differences in the quality of the retail environment have remained. Changes occurred mainly in shopping habits, buying behavior and consumer preferences across generations and across population groups.
