| Description | Mannose-binding lectin (MBL) plays an important role in innate immunity. This receptor recognizing molecular patterns on the surface of pathogens is studied and associated with a number of diseases of the oral cavity (recurrent aphthous stomatitis, periodontitis, oral lichen planus, tooth decay). The aim of this work was to design an effective methodology for the identification of functional polymorphisms in the MBL2 gene, whose allelic and genotypic combinations affect the expression of the MBL2 gene. |
