| Description | In 1969-2008 abundance of bat populations was monitored on the territory of the Czech Republic. In most species hibernating underground, the numbers increased within the last 20 years, in part possibly due to the end of marking; from unknown reasons, in two species the numbers decreased. Populations of species hibernating elsewhere were stable or increasing in numbers. Four species previously unknown were recorded within the last 10 years resulting in a total of 26 bat species actually known on the Czech territory. |
