Description Breeding of Little grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) and Great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus) was studied on Náměšťské rybníky fishponds (Czech-Moravian Highland). From results of the analysis of the influence of ecological factors on their breeding success appeared that predation mostly influenced the incubation stage success, while termoregulation and local environmental conditions largely influenced the stage of looking after brood.
