| Description | The contribution illustrates the application of the methods of the Forum Theatre in the process of research methods learning, namely upon the drawing of mental maps and the conducting of unstructured or semi-structured interviews. In the course “Qualitative methods of social and geographical research”, newly taught at the Department of Geography of Masaryk University in the spring 2011 semester, a pair of lectors performed interviews to the students with different themes, structures, and above all with different styles of guidance. The students had an opportunity to interrupt these interviews, to ask questions, to suggest a different approach, to discuss methodological aspects of guidance, to highlight pitfalls and identify errors. The main objective of applying this method was to encourage students to gradually use their initiative and take up the role of interviewers, thus trying and experiencing the guidance of a certain type of interview. |
