Description Inflammatory mechanisms are involved in the first defense barrier against harmful substances. Their reaction is very fast. The experimental part is focused on the determination of nonspecific immune parameters in blood and serum of cats. Following set of parameters is analysed: the rate of oxidative burst of phagocytes chemiluminescence method and the concentration of lysozyme in a radial diffusion agarose gel. Experimental part also involved comparison of individuals positive for the presence of specific IgM and IgG antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (ELISA) and specific antibodies against Leptospira interrogans sensu lato (microscopic agglutination test). Individual samples were divided into three sets and they were compared. The presence of antibodies against leptospires and borreliae probably does not affect non-specific parameters. Statistically significant difference between negative samples and samples positive for antibodies against leptospires and borreliae were found in one file at a concentration of lysozyme.
