High-quality research at Masaryk University is funded mostly through the research grant competitions. The money received through the successful projects form about 70% of the annual budget for research at MU. As the MU researchers face the continuous challenge of increasingly tough grant competitions, the Grants Week event is here to support them.

Grants Week objectives:

• Introduce opportunities under major national and international grant providers
• Share good practice on how to put together a successful grant proposal
• Support development of competencies necessary for scientific work in areas such as Intellectual Property Rights, Research Ethics or Communicating Science

The first day of the Grants Week is open to all while the 2nd and 3rd day is limited to the MU employees and students only. All talks will be in English.
The concept of Grants Week originated at the University of Groningen. The MU Grants Week 2016 is a second annual event organized by the Research Office MU with the 2016 programme offering 25 different speakers and more than 1000 attendance slots. The scope and focus of the MU Grants Week make this event unique not only in Czech Republic.
