The Faculty of Economics and Administration was established in 1990. With approximately 4,000 students in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees programmes it focuses on economics, economic information systems, financial management, economic policy and management, national economics and business management, regional development and management through public finance.

Analysis and identification of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium modelback
The research is based on new theoretical trends in mainstream macroeconomics: theory of dynamic systems and methods of Bayesian estimation. The aim of the research is to explain the influence of external shocks in the Czech economy and to analyze the transmission mechanism. The research is also focused on the degree of sensitivity and adaptability of basic macroeconomic variables to the shocks.

Examination of the competitiveness of enterprisesback
In this research there is analyzed the economic performance of enterprises. The analysis is based on the empirical inquiry using the method of statistical pattern recognition. For the research we use our own methodology of regional evaluation of the quality of entrepreneurial environment and its competitiveness.

Examination of the innovational potentiality of regions and the evaluation ofinnovational region’s profilesback
The regional research is focused on the quality of entrepreneurial environment including the innovational potential. It is concerned with structural aspects of spatial division of labor and also with the innovational potential of regions. Further, there is analyzed the direct and indirect subvention of competitiveness with emphasize on the stimulation of innovational efficiency.

The research is focused on the analysis of economic behaviour of the non-profit sector and its relationship with other actors of the economic environment. The chief topic is the concept of efficiency in specific conditions of public and private non-profit sector.

The research is focused in the long run on the railway transport from the economist’s point of view. Currently, it concerns mainly with the competitive advantage and competition within railway transport.
