Annotation

The project is focused on the highly relevant question (within the context of the current societal changes) to what extent and in what respects the Czech social policy is following the trends towards modernization in terms of employment friendly policies. Just this area is assessed – in line with the Lisbon agenda – as a key to social cohesion, social inclusion and sustainability of public finance. Apart of the shifts in the policy objectives and strategies the project would examine the changes in the forms of governance (including the influence the European Employment Strategy and Open method of coordination). The regime of the labour market/flexicurity will be assessed and the impact of the ongoing trends in employment and social policy for the inclusion in the labour market and sustainable employment. We will systematically use existing databases: administrative data on the unemployed, labour force survey and SILC datasets. We will carry a survey on the forms of flexibility and the role of activation and the politics, expert interviews (discursive analysis) and local studies on policies and their impacts.
