The standard duration of the Sociology Master's program is four semesters. To earn the diploma, students must obtain 120 ECTS credits for coursework, successfully complete a master thesis (20 000 words) and pass a final examination. The structure of the program is designed to cultivate students' general critical thinking skills and their ability to analyze various social phenomena within the framework of contemporary social theory. The curriculum includes a comparative approach to the study of post-socialist societies and problems of democratic transitions and the interpretation of contemporary social and sociological issues within European and global contexts. Courses cover topics that cover the basic sociological theory and methods, and optional courses reflect the faculty’s wide-ranging research interests from the questions of social exclusion and inclusion, migration studies to cultural sociology.
