Open day
The specialized open day for the partner schools has become a traditional and a successful part of the project. It allows secondary school students to visit Masaryk University faculties and to gain information about the programs of study they are interested in, admission process and other opportunities that Masaryk University provides to its students. Partner school students take guided tours through different laboratories, libraries and other facilities of the university. This year’s open day took place on November the 26th and scored a great success as 9 faculties of Masaryk University were visited by more than 2000 secondary school students.
Masaryk University student presentations at secondary schools
Masaryk University offers many opportunities how to find out information about the programs of study, courses, admission process and possibilities of study to the potential applicants. One of these opportunities to gain the information is a personal presentation of MU students at the partner secondary schools. MU students bring their personal experience directly to the secondary schools, allowing the secondary school students to ask questions and get an insight into the University environment. These presentations were held during October, November and December at most partner schools.
Specialized lectures given by MU teachers at secondary schools
The partner schools were offered a set of specialized lectures from Masaryk University teachers and they were allowed to pick one of them to take place at their school. Partner school students had a chance to learn interesting details from different scientific areas during these presentations. The presentations were given by MU scientists and professors who are specialist in the field. More than 20 specialized lectures were given in 2010 including speeches about the physics of the Global warming, Astrophysics and Astronomy, Philosophy and about chromosome disorders.
