About us

Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses (“IBA” onwards) is a joint academic workplace of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science. It serves as a research and scientific workplace and its function is to afford particular services, relating to the research activities, in the field of data analyses, modelling, information technologies application, registration and assessment of clinical data. IBA is an independent economic center of MU. The head of IBA is its director.

The activities of IBA primarily direct at organizational and specialist arrangement of elaborated research projects and projects of clinical survey. Since its establishment on 1st January 2006, the Institute has also functioned as a cost center within both the establishing faculties; there, in accordance with their regulations, the center guarantees information technologies teaching, data analyses and modelling for biological and medical fields of study. Moreover, IBA provides and guarantees the accredited field of study called Mathematical Biology at the Faculty of Science. IBA also guarantees the development of clinical fields of study using modern information technologies at the Faculty of Medicine. Due to its activities at the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine, IBA significantly contributes to the development of interdisciplinary studies and research at MU.
