This workshop presents an overview of current approaches to material development and their use in class in the second language teaching and learning. Based on the Masaryk University Language Centre experience a wide range of constructivist and community-of-practice sample activities addresses questions such as flexible materials format, creative situations, processes and barriers, or distributed and individualised ICT enhanced language learning. The aim of the workshop is to show a variety of creativity and ICT use driven shifts of pedagogy which provide a more flexible, learner-centred and close-to-reality learning environment where effectiveness of the second language skills acquisition has a great potential to increase.
