Living expenses in the Czech Republic

Living expenses in the Czech Republic are, in comparison with western EU countries, very favourable.

Accommodation

The accommodation in the halls of residence: the amount of residence fee ranges between 1 800 CZK to 2 700 CZK per month and it depends on the equipment of the room. For example, the price for a bed in a double-bed room with internet connection is 90 CZK per day, the price for a bed in a shared room (three beds) without internet connection is 60 CZK.

Catering Services

The price for catering in MU canteens and cafeterias is subsidized, approximately 90 CZK per day (lunch and dinner in a canteen, breakfast one’s own).

Total yearly living expenses in Brno are 42 000 CZK for a ten-month stay, 96 000 CZK with higher standard (better accommodation, self-catering, spending money on other activities).
