Annotation

Project’s goal is to map abilities necessary for successful start of school attendance of children from a socially disadvantaged environment (SDE). It aims to create a new diagnostic method – a computer game attractive for children and methodologically based on Knowledge Space Theory. Each action of a child (mouse move, pointing a game item, click etc.) will be recorded and from those data Knowledge Spaces will be constructed and analyzed. This method allows to follow ways of child’s thinking. Project assumes examination of 100 children from SDE (on start of the prep class and after finishing it) and children from the majority population. Research’s results will lead to formulation of recommendations for education content of prep classes so that the education leads to an individual development of each child in the field of abilities necessary for successful school attendance. On the field of methodology the project contributes by propagation of KST in Czech psychology community, where it strives to show the contributions that exceed restrictions of Classical Test Theory.
