here was one plenary lecture given by prof. Widdowson and 7 co-plenaries by experienced methodologists, teacher trainers and coursebook authors (Adrian Underhill, Scott Thornbury, Robin Walker,Paul Emmerson, Colin Campbell, Piotr Steinbrich and Zsuzsa Kuti). Then the participants had a choice of 90 workshops and seminars in 17 sections. The most important issues involved teacher education, Computer Aided Language Learning,teaching English as Lingua Franca,learner autonomy, intercultural communication and learning school.
