Der zentrale Begriff der Rektions- und Bindungstheorie (Bindung) ist u. a. über die Koindizierung zweier referentieller Ausdrücke in der Satzstruktur definiert. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird (in Anlehnung an frühere Arbeiten von Tanya Reinhart) gezeigt, dass dadurch ein hybrider Begriff entsteht, der zur adäquaten Erfassung der sprachlichen Sachverhalte untauglich ist.

One of the central concepts in the Government and Binding framework is binding. Binding is partly defined on the coindexation of two referring expressions within the sentence structure. Based on earlier work by Tanya Reinhart, this article shows that binding is, thus, a hybrid concept which cannot be used to adequately represent facts of language.
