Obsahem textu je základní seznámení s funkcionálními rovnicemi a metodami jejich řešení. Po stručném úvodu je zařazena řada příkladů funkcionálních rovnic dvou proměnných a popsána Cauchyho metoda jejich řešení. Následuje teorie nutná k řešení funkcionálních rovnic jedné proměnné včetně ilustrativních příkladů. V závěru je uveden příklad teoretického problému řešeného pomocí uvedené teorie.

The text contains the basic introduction of functional equations and the methods of their solving. After a short foreword there is given a set of examples of functional equations of two variables and there is described Cauchy s method of their solution. Then there follows a theory necessary for solving of functional equations of a single variable including some illustrative examples. In the conclusion of the article there is shown an example of a theoretical problem solved by the mentioned theory.
