Citace
Popis On the 28th of February, 1966, the legendary event Poëzie in Carré (Poetry in Carré) was held under the auspices of writer Simon Vinkenoog and actor Olivier Boelen. Besides 23 Dutch poets, two Flemish authors were represented, i.e. Hugues C. Pernath and Gust Gils. The latter called the evening in a report in Muze-n-expres a revelation; it induced him to make a plea for "poetry as a phenomenon of sound". Also co-organizer Vinkenoog referred to the event to underline the importance of the spoken word, be it from a different (poetical) angle than Gils. Vinkenoog and Gils, who were experimenting with "poetry as a phenomenon of sound", would later be designated as pioneers of performance poetry. A comparison of their explicit poetical statements in the late sixties shows, however, that there common interest has a different (poetical) foundation.
