Kapitola se věnuje stylu persvazivní komunikace. Upozorňuje sice na persvazi jako součást všech typ textů, vlastní výklad se však soustřeďuje na veřejnou mluvenou komunikaci rétorického typu. Typické rysy těchto komunikátů jsou dány nejen dominující persvazí a jejím typem, ale i faktem mluvenosti a existenci fyzicky přítomného kolektivního adresáta. Výklad navazuje na práce o tradicích rétoriky, ale nenahrazuje je. Není praktickou přírukou rétoriky.

Influence on the addressee as the main element constituting a text The chapter deals with style of persuasive communication in all kinds of texts, paying particular attention to public spoken communication of the kind dealt with by rhetoric. Specific features of these texts are given not only by the dominant influence of persuasive power, but also by the fact that texts of this kind are spoken and orientated to a collective addressee (usually present during the communication). The explanations further develop traditions of rhetoric, but does not substitute them it is not intended as a practical handbook of rhetoric.
