The book is conceived as an imaginary sketchbook, which tries to cover contemporary aesthetic education from five different angles. The first sketch is devoted to the term of aesthetic education, the second sketch portrays four important theoretical approaches to aesthetic education, the third sketch presents methodology of empirical research. The fourth, most extensive sketch depicts in detail the individual elements, which form the visual art part of aesthetic education. The fifth sketch then works with this material with the goal of introducing the grounded theory of aesthetic education (the visual segment). Conclusion of the book summarises the presented sketches and offers ways how to apply the hereby-gained knowledge in pedagogical theory, empiricism as well as practice.
