About us

Masaryk University Press is one of the most productive publishers of scientific and popular educational literature in Czech Republic. We publish more than 400 titles of scientific and popular educational literature and 50 scholarly and student magazines per year.

The publishing activities of the university are ensured by Masaryk University Press, various faculties and other university organs. The Board of Scientific Editors takes care of the development of the publishing activities of Masaryk University.

Masaryk University Press publishes scientific, specialized and popular education literature, representative interdisciplinary publications for academic and professional public as well as original and translational university textbooks according to the current needs of educators and students.

The mission of Masaryk University Press is to present the outcomes of research and education of the university, to support the prestige and reputation of the university in professional public, to ensure the quality, standard and credibility of academic publications and to establish partnership and cooperation between university presses on an international level.

  • Masaryk University has published more than 10.500 publications since its foundation. It publishes more than 450 titles of scholarly and popular educational literature and 50 scientific and student magazines per year.
  • The Faculty of Law publishes about 60 titles of specialized and study literature and 3 scholarly journals per year.
  • The Faculty of Medicine publishes about 30 titles of specialized and study literature and 1 scholarly journal per year.
  • The Faculty of Science publishes about 30 titles of specialized and study literature and 4 scholarly journals per year.
