Učební text „Vybrané kapitoly z algebry“ je určen studentům bakalářského studijního oboru Pedagogické asistentství matematiky pro základní školy. Jeho účelem je poskytnout studentům stručný přehled konstrukce základních číselných oborů (čísla přirozená, celá, racionální, reálná a komplexní), včetně teorie dělitelnosti v oboru celých čísel a zápisů čísel v nedesítkových číselných soustavách. Další významnou součástí textu jsou základní pojmy a tvrzení z teorie polynomů a řešení algebraických rovnic. Text je doplněn stručným seznámením s teorií cyklických grup, faktorových struktur a Booleovy algebry.

The study text „Chosen Chapters from Algebra“ is aimed at students of the bachelor study programme Teaching assistant to a teacher of Mathematics at primary and lower secondary schools. Its objective is to provide students with a brief survey of the construction of number systems (natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, real numbers, and complex numbers), including the theory of divisibility in the domain of integers and the representation of numbers in positional numeral systems. The next important part of the text is focused on basic notions and theorems from the theory of polynomials and solving of algebraic equations. The text is supplemented with a short introduction to the theory of cyclic groups, factor groups and Boolean algebra.
