SUMMER SCHOOL - A Practical Course in Three-Dimensional Electron Microscopy

You are cordially invited to the summer school in Three-Dimensional Electron Microscopy. The course is intended for new users of EM and those interested in learning it. The course will bring together developers from three popular software packages: SPIDER, XMIPP, and Bsoft. Additional software packages, such as EMAN2 and RELION, will also be briefly introduced. However, the intent of the course is not to teach any particular software package, but rather to introduce the concepts which are common to all of them.

Topics will include:

Introduction to various image-processing packages
Getting an initial model
Reference-based reconstruction and refinement
Tomography and subtomogram averaging
Advanced topics: flexible fitting, 3D classification, etc
