Annotation

The aim of the project is to study potential uses of suspension, callus and embryogenic cultures of medical plant Schizandra chinensis for the production of lignan secondary metabolites; which were found as hepatoprotective, antioxidant, antiviral and anticancer agents. Possibilities of selection of high productive lines and plant production using selected embryogenic cultures will be also studied. The project is based on the use of analytical and isolation methods, developed by specialist teams a the LF MU (Táborská, Slanina), and extraction and cultivation capacity and experience of the team at FF VFU (Kramáoová, Šmejkal). Moreover, embryogenic cultures, developed at the AF MZLU (Vlašínová, Smíšková) will be utilized. The result of the projec will be lignan analysis methods, methodology of lignan production in vitro, and micropropagation methods for selected valuable genotypes.
