Popis | Weathering of sulfide deposits leads to creation of acid mine drainages and subsequently to precipitation of Fe ochre. The main objective of this thesis was to determine chemical composition of mine drainage and chemical and mineralogical composition of Fe ochre precipitates in the Pernek - Krížnica region. Various methods including the selective dissolution analysis, color determination, atomic spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy have been applied. It was found that the mine drainage contains above all sulphur, copper, iron and zinc. Ochre precipitates contain primarily iron, sulphur and aluminium. In smaller quantities there are also arsenic, antimony, and copper. From a mineralogical point of view the goethite represents the main part of the Fe ochre precipitates, in a lesser extent it contains gypsum and probably there are also ferrihydrite, schwertmannite and Fe-Al gels. They contain also some part of quartz, feldspars, and clay minerals. |
