The article deals with the theory of firm from quantitative approach to the theory and with aplication of this approach to the business company from the real economy. It describes chosen public limited company Slovenský plynárenský priemysel according to displayed market structure, also considering the bussines goals which may by followed. The aplication is conducted on the price of natural gas data, aimed at identification the business goal followed by company, and divided to the profit maximization, as suposed primary business goal, towards turnover maximizations as alternative.
