10th IMWA Congress, Mine Water and the Environment (International Mine Water Association)
Mining of minerals and other underground engineering activities are inevitably related to the occurrence of groundwater. In addition, large quantities of water are frequently used for mining and processing of mineral resources. The Congress will be devoted to mine water issues that involve different aspects of water quality and quantity management in active and abandoned mining areas, such as: mine water management; dewatering; hydrological and geochemical problems that occur due to mine closure; polluted groundwater leaching out of mine tailings and from ore processing sludge beds.
