The study is designed for graduates from the Bachelor’s degree study of Special Pedagogy of respective orientation, prospectively similar Study Fields, the choice will be reviewed by the PdF Department of Special Education. The Master’s degree study further broadens the achieved specialisations in the Bachelor’s study. The part of study is a common basis for lower secondary schools including learning a foreign language (English, German) which is completed by an exam. During the studies the student chooses a specialisation, namely Logopedy and Surdopedy or Teaching People with Behavioral Disorders. The proposition also offers the specialisation Surdopedy with sign language, with a prerequisite of basic knowledge of sign language, e.g. for students with special needs (see the Internet web site of the Department of Special Education at the faculty of Education MU under the reference Students with Special Needs and under the reference link to a new windowhttp://www.ped.muni.cz/wsedu). If students do not change their Field of Study according to their profession (Special Needs Pedagogy for Teachers, or Special Andragogy), the study proposition also offers specialisation in education of students with mental retardation or education of students with more disorders.

The aim of the study is to prepare special needs teachers in compliance with act 563/2004 Coll., on Pedagogical Staff and the Amendment to Some Other Acts and in accordance with the chosen specialisation
for the practice of the profession speech therapist/hearing specialist in logopedic nurseries, schools, and educational institutions (e.g. pedagogical and psychological guidance clinics PPP, special pedagogical centres SPC with a focus on logopedics and surdopedy), in institutions of the government department Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs where the relevant regulations of these government departments are valid,
for the practice of the profession etopedic worker in school establishments (diagnostic institutions, juvenile homes, orphanages, Centres for children and young people SVP (act 109/2002 Sb. in the latest amendments), if different government departments are involved, e.g. the Ministry of the Interior, the relevant provisions of the respective government departments are valid,
possibly for the practice of the profession psychopedic performer/somatopedic performer/ophtalmopedic performer in nurseries and special nurseries, non-educational institutions (PPP, SPC), if different government departments are involved, e.g. the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, possibly the Ministry of Health, the relevant provisions of the respective government departments are valid.

Applicants for Master’s degree programmes ARE OBLIGED to mention in the Electronic Application the name of the university from which they have graduated or are going to complete a Bachelor’s programme, the name of the Bachelor’s degree programme, the name of Bachelor’s field of Study, the date of Bachelor's state examination, and the subjects of the Bachelor’s state examination. Applicants will fill in such details in the section of already created applications under the reference "enter/edit additional text of the applicant”.
Applicants who are scheduled to complete their Bachelor's studies in the year 2010 and do not know at the time of the entrance examinations whether they will complete their Bachelor's studies are allowed to take the entrance examinations. All applicants are admitted to the studies on a conditional basis.
On the appointed day of enrollment in Master’s studies, accepted applicants will submit an authenticated copy of their Bachelor’s diploma and Bachelor’s state examination certificate (the faculty does not return such a copy), on the basis of which they will receive an admission notification to the 1st year of studies in question. Applicants who do not complete their Bachelor’s Studies by the appointed date of enrollment in studies cannot be enrolled in Master’s Studies.
