POSTDOC POSITION in Analytical Chemistry

Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic, is offering a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to PhD graduate in Analytical chemistry with a special focus on separation science. In the frame of presented position, we aim to develop a multidimensional analytical system allowing sample preparation, separation, and detection of complex metabolomic and proteomic samples. Monolithic and particle-based stationary phases will be applied in conventional, capillary, and/or planar chromatography after online and supervision-free sample preparation including specific immunoprecipitation, enzymatic digestion, and sample enrichment. Special attention will be given to a hyphenation of developed separation devices to sensitive detection including spectrophotometric and electrochemical methods as well as mass spectrometry.

The successful candidate should:

  • be a researcher who has received a PhD or its equivalent within the last 7 years
  • be a researcher who has worked at least two whole years in the last three outside the territory of the Czech Republic in the field of research with a working time of at least 0.5 full-time equivalent, or who has been PhD student (or equivalent) abroad
  • have a publishing record – in the last three years at least two publication outputs registered in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases and at the same time publications such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews”.

Specific criteria:

  • The candidate should be skilled in either pressure or electrodriven separation techniques and have a working experience with a preparation of polymer-based monolithic stationary phases.
  • Proved presentation of the results at international scientific meetings of separation and mass spectrometry communities is highly advantageous.

The application should include:

  • a CV including a summary of education and research experience, publication activity (Web of Science), involvement in research grants, etc.
  • a scanned copy of the PhD diploma or an official letter certifying submission of a doctoral thesis for thesis defence and the planned defence date
