invites applications for the following position:

Lecturer in Business Management

 

Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is looking for a highly motivated and productive Lecturer (0.25 – 1 FTE) in the field of Business Management with specialization in one of these areas: financial management, production management, quality management, service management, entrepreneurship, or controlling. This is a “person-organization fit” position. A specific teaching agenda and the working hours will be arranged based on the candidate's specialization and career plans.

The position includes teaching in Czech (or Slovak) and English, supervising theses written in Czech and English, and cooperating with companies in the Czech Republic or abroad. The position is initially funded for 3 years; after this time, the contract might be extended.

We are looking for a candidate:

  • with a master's or Ph.D. degree in business management, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field,
  • at least three years long business experience which is relevant for courses in Business Management bachelor and master programs,
  • professional interest in financial management, production management, quality management, service management, entrepreneurship, or controlling,
  • ability to teach and tutor both in English and Czech (or Slovak) (at least C1 level),
  • ready to start the job in February 2025 or in September 2025 and work for 10 – 40 hours per week (0.25 – 1 FTE).
  • Candidates with senior business experience, candidates with a wide professional network, and candidates with lecturing or mentoring experience are preferred.

What does the position entail?

  • teaching 4 – 18 hours (4 for 0.25 FTE, 7-9 for 0.5 FTE, 14 – 18 for full FTE) a week, 24 weeks per year, in Czech (or Slovak) and English,
  • participation in the state final examination committees in Czech and English,
  • supervising final theses in Czech and English,
  • popularization activities and collaboration with companies,
  • option to participate in applied research projects or in business consultancy,
  • active collaboration with other members of the department.

What do we offer?

  • A full-time (40 hours a week) or part-time (at least 10 hours a week) Lecturer position at one of the highest-ranked universities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
  • A 3-year initial contract (with possible extension).
  • The monthly salary from 38 000 CZK  to 50 000 CZK (in case of a full-time job) before taxes depending on qualification and seniority. In case of meeting the annual goals, or showing an extra effort, the employee is entitled to bonuses.

  • names and contacts of three referees who would provide recommendation letters upon request.
