MU implements a variety of measures to promote gender equality as part of the University's strategic commitment to the principles of transparency, equality, and accountability and to reconciling the work and personal lives of all its employees and students. The University fulfils this commitment at the level of its units and through the activities of the University through the Masaryk University Gender Equality Plan (MU GEP), which is considered a resource for systematically addressing gender equality in all areas of MU activities.

The Senior management of Masaryk University follows the European Union's objectives in the field of gender equality for 2020-2025 (A Union of Equality: Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025) and the Strategy for Gender Equality in the Czech Republic for 2021-2030.
Therefore, GEP MU (MU Gender Equality Plan) is a comprehensive framework of objectives identified by in-depth gender audits at MU units, which should be achieved in a specific timeframe, and activities and measures to ensure the fulfilment of these objectives. The various specialized departments of the Rector's Office of MU cooperate with university units in implementing the MU GEP measures.
