Doctoral admission appeals process

Information about the appeals process

Applicants for studies at Masaryk University are entitled to request a review of the acceptance/denial decision regarding their admission to studies. The appeal must be submitted to the authority which issued the decision – i.e. the dean of the faculty in question – no later than 30 days upon its receipt. In exceptional cases, this period may be extended by the Rector. The appeal is reviewed by the dean who may grant the appeal and change the admission decision; otherwise, the appeal is passed on to the Rector. The Rector shall overturn any decision issued in contradiction with the law, an MU internal regulation or its part or conditions set out in section 49, subsections 1 and 3 of the Higher Education Act of the Czech Republic. Otherwise, the appeal is denied. The Rector’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
