The cultural and natural riches of Greece: from antiquity to the present (in Czech)

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the topography of Greece, its cultural heritage from antiquity to the present, natural attractions and contemporary realities. The course is intended for employees in the tourism industry with a focus on Greece and the Mediterranean, Greek language teachers at language schools, as well as history and geography teachers at various educational levels. It is also suitable for the general public with an interest in tourism in Greece.

What you will learn

A graduate of the course will have a solid understanding of Greek culture, geography, and societal aspects. They will also be briefly acquainted with current social and political developments in Greece. Additionally, they will be able to characterise the various Greek regions, their cultural and natural landmarks, and appreciate their significance in terms of history, contemporary affairs, and tourism.

Employment prospects

The course will enhance participants' qualifications not only for careers in tourism but also for teaching at primary and secondary schools (geography and history teachers will gain an advanced understanding of Greek culture, geography, and societal aspects, as well as familiarity with current social and political developments in Greece). It is also beneficial for language school educators. Lastly, the course is designed for the general public, including travellers with an interest in Greece, helping them gain a deeper insight into their destination and make informed travel choices.

Admission requires submitting an application and timely payment of the course fee.

Course contents, lectures, lecturers

Podmínkou úspěšného ukončení je absolvování dvou závěrečných souhrnných testů (různé typy otázek, výběr z možností, pravda-nepravda, přiřazování obrázků apod.), vždy jeden pro každý semestr, a to s minimální úspěšností 60 %.
