Vietnamese Language, Culture, and Society: Basic Introduction to Vietnamese Studies (in Czech)

Upon completing the course, the graduate will be able to:

a) understand and effectively handle specific situations when interacting with Vietnamese speakers,
b) identify the distinctive features of the Vietnamese language and culture,
c) engage in informed discussions about Vietnamese culture and society,
d) apply the knowledge gained from the introduction to Vietnamese studies in practice.

Employment prospects

Graduates will have a basic set of knowledge necessary for more effective culturally specific approaches in the work of educators, public sector officials, and researchers who come into contact with Vietnamese people.

Admission

To register for the course, submit an e-application.

The course will not be held if fewer than 5 participants register.
There is no entrance examination; the first 40 applicants will be admitted according to the date of application submission.

After the application period has ended, applicants will be informed (via the e-mail address provided in the application) whether the course will or will not be opened, and, if applicable, about enrolment and course payment.

10 lectures delivered through synchronous online instruction, with time allocated for questions and discussion.

To obtain the microcertificate, a written paper is required. Its aim is to describe the student's own completed activity related to Vietnamese studies and to draw conclusions from this activity based on academic literature.
