Dear alumni,
The beginning of March at the Faculty of Arts MU was marked, among other things, by graduation ceremonies – the ceremonial awarding of university diplomas. This act often combines two contradictory feelings – joy that students have managed to fulfil the requirements for successful graduation and sadness that those who do not continue in one of the follow-up studies leave the faculty.
So, quite naturally, we at the faculty are looking for more opportunities to keep graduates returning. Returning to the faculty can be an exciting opportunity to further your education, develop the knowledge and skills acquired during your studies, learn about current trends in your field, or, on the contrary, get acquainted with a lot you did not have time for during your studies. At the same time, we are aware of the growing trend of the 'knowledge half-life', which reflects that the knowledge and skills we acquire have a limited shelf-life and may become outdated over time and therefore need to be deepened, revised or renewed.
This is one of the reasons we are constantly trying to expand our range of courses, as well as one-off lectures and seminars. Suppose you are interested, for example, in the process of argumentation, the cultural heritage of Greece, or the basics of archival practice. In that case, you can choose these and other courses from our continuing education offer. If you want to listen to one of the lectures introducing the various humanities, you can attend the Open World of the Humanities lecture series. Instead, if you would like to learn about trends in the field of teaching, join us during Teacher's Week. We hope you will find the right reason to visit the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University again.
