Geology for Multi-Branches Study
The multidisciplinary study programme of Geology includes the basics of all geological disciplines including profile subjects of General Geology, Paleontology, Historical Geology, Regional Geology, Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry. An integral part of the programme is geological training in the field. This Bachelor's programme is designed for applicants who are looking for the opportunity to focus their studies in science, mathematics, informatics and linguistic disciplines with a view to pursue the follow-up Master's study programme.
A successful graduate is able to
- explain and use basic geological terminology
- recognize principal minerals, rocks, fossils and structures
- use common geological research methods including documentation of geological outcrops and exposures, sampling, data processing, etc.
- solve particular geological problems, interpret research results and present them in the written and oral forms
Graduates can find employment in basic and applied research, in managerial professions and in all the spheres where both theoretical and practical knowledge of geology is required, such as institutions of geological research, universities, cultural institutions, environmental institutions and state management.
